Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon: Family Talk

Looking forward to the future, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are planning on starting a family- just not yet.

The former “Drumline” actor gushed that he and his wife are just too busy to welcome a baby into the world right now. “We absolutely plan to have a family. But we gotta prioritize, because that’s a major, major priority.”

The couple wants everything to be perfect when they are ready to start a family. “That’s like the only priority in life, when you think about it, is starting and raising a family. We want to make sure everything is out of the way and that we don’t have any distractions.”

Meanwhile, Carey has been busy touring the country promoting her CD, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” while Cannon hosts “America’s Got Talent,” and his new morning radio show, leaving the couple itself little time to spend with one another. “She’s on tour right now, I’m doing a bunch of stuff, so eventually we want to be able to say it’s time to have a kid, and set everything up. But we’re definitely moving toward [it]. We got our house in L.A., and we got a house [in New York City], established and close to schools,” he added. “So we take all of that stuff into consideration.”
